A year ago I made a hands free Oreo dispenser. I loved it, you loved it, everyone loved it. But there was one major flaw with it. In this video I'm improving the first version and I'm solving the milk problem. Introducing: The Oreo & Milk dispenser!
The original Oreo dispenser is very high in my favourite projects list. It was a simple mechanism that did a fun task. And I got to design and iterate the design on the go. And the result was worth it :)
But when I posted it on the internet I quickly realised that I’m not a true Oreo eater.. I forgot about the milk and you were kind enough to let me know..
Now, a little more than a year later the time has come! I’m fixing the milk problem and also Improving the Oreo dispenser.
To change things up a bit I decided to go for 3D printing on this build. The model was really suitable for it and I have already shown how to do it from wood. To use everything I learned from the first build I imported the original model into Fusion 360 and started redesigning all the parts to optimise them for printing. This way I could use all dimensions which saved a lot of time.
After that came the challenging part: making a milk dispenser in the same shape and size housing as the Oreo dispenser. I thought of three options for the milk dispenser:
Have some way you can dip the cookie while holding it with your mouth
Integrate it in the Oreo dispenser so it dispenses milk and a cookie at the same time
Have a separate milk dispenser next to the Oreo one
The first two options seemed rather impractical to me so I went with the third one. But, where the oreo dispenser only has a cookie slide on the inside, the milk dispenser needed a bit more: a pump, tubing to connect to the outlet, a milk reservoir and a switch to activate the pump.
But after some puzzling time I got it all to fit inside.
This again was a fun build and the Oreos don’t taste so bad with milk.. Win win
